About the Canzine Festival of Zines

First held in Toronto in 1995, Canzine has since expanded to Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Brampton, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, and Halifax, each event hosting hundreds of writers and performers, displaying thousands of zines, books, comics and prints. Online Canzine started during the pandemic when we couldn’t gather together in person to swap zines and share stories. Being online has allowed us to expand Canzine even further, and work with zinesters from all over the world!  Currently we are running a Fall Canzine in Toronto and an Online Canzine in the Spring. If you want to bring Canzine to your community, get in touch at canzine@brokenpencil.com.
